Sullivan Street New York

My favorite street in Manhattan

""Sullivan Street" is simply my favorite street in Manhattan or the whole of NYC even! It's full of colorful townhouses, charming restaurants & cute stores."

Greenwich Village is home to many famous faces (fictional and real), including the likes of Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw (as well as, coincidentally, the real life woman who plays her - Sarah Jessica Parker), the famous squad from the hit TV show Friends, and many celebrities. The village is also home to many restaurants, bars, comedy clubs, jazz clubs, and Washington Square Park, making it my favorite neighborhood in the city.

Running from Washington Square Park to Broome Street, Sullivan Street winds through West Village and nearby locales like SoHo, South Village, and Hudson Square. Named after John Sullivan, who was a Revolutionary War general, this modern street full of colorful townhouses, charming restaurants, cute stores, and local bars is my favorite street in the city.

Blue Ribbon Sushi (a famous sushi place with fresh fish flown in daily from Japan), Banter NYC (an Australian brunch place), and Once Upon a Tart (a bakery, restaurant, and cafe all-in-one) can all be found on Sullivan Street. Past famous residents include an Italian-American mobster, a three-term Mayor of NYC and a famous French composer. Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, currently resides in one of the townhouses on the street.

I love strolling down Sullivan whenever I'm in the neighborhood, and especially enjoy checking out the numerous restaurants, cafes, bakeries, stores, and bars along it!
