Hotel Lutetia is a luxurious place that saw all the “crazy years” of glamour pass by and later hosted artists such as Picasso or E. Hemingway during their time in Paris. This amazing building was reopened in 2018 after a complete restoration which included the renovation of the main bar on the ground floor, which was named in the honor of singer Josephine Baker who was recently also recognized for her role in fighting racism when her remains were taken to the Pantheon in the center of Paris.
The bar is decorated with amazing frescoes and boosts luxury and glamour in every corner. I’ve been there for a drink or a cocktail, expensive – yes, but worth it as it allows you to enjoy, for not so much, the experience of such a remarkable and historical place. I suggest combining it with visits to Le Bon Marche and many of the nice design shops along the Rue du Bac.
