The Comcast Center is the newest skyscraper in the city of Philadelphia and is also the tallest. Standing at 58 stories, it is the 19th tallest building in the United States. The building is the most modern and impressive building in the city along with being one of the most energy efficient buildings built in the United States. The building got its name from their most occupied tenant, Comcast, which is a telecommunications company and is also the owner of NBC. Â
The big draw is the large 2.000 square feet high definition LED television screen in the lobby showing special content. During the Christmas season, they show a 3D Christmas show. All of the content is filmed specifically for the building. When the Pope came to Philly, filmagraphers went to the Vatican to film a special feature just for the event. Â
High above you while you enjoy the show, there is an art exhibit that will catch your eye. At first glance, you might think that the people are really walking high above you on the beams in the lobby.
In the basement is a retail market space featuring everything from food stands, groceries, and even clothing stores.
