I have always considered Philadelphia to be a city for grown-ups but if you look hard enough, you will find things for kids. Franklin Square is one of those places for kids, or even adults that want to act like kids for a day. Franklin Square is one of the original four squares in Philadelphia that was part of the original design when the city was founded. Each square is unique and offers something different for everyone.
Franklin Square has more activities than any other square in Philadelphia. Just one of the attractions is an old fashioned carousel at just $ 3 a ride. One of my favorites is the miniature golf. Each course is designed after famous Philly spots. It is a nice way to spend an evening with a group of friends and at $ 9, you would be hard pressed to find an evening of cheaper entertainment.
The square also offers a playground for kids, a fountain, and a concession stand for unique treats. It is the only place in the city where you can try a TastyKake shake made with the signature Philly favorite.
