I love Nunu best on a cold day when I'm craving a cocktail and warm snacks. The cozy atmosphere here is perfect for pre-gaming a night out or meeting your sweetie for an intimate drink and shared plates.
First order of business is what to drink. Nunu has a very approachable menu with draft whiskey highballs, sake, shochu, and several unique house cocktails. You've got to try the Little Green Monster made with gin, becherovka, matcha tea and egg white. Or my favorite, the Jiro Dreams of Cuba, like a mojito made with shochu and served straight up.
The food menu is equally inviting and full of both classic and surprising Asian-inspired snacks: albacore tataki, milkbread toast, a variety of skewers, and high-quality sushi creations. (Love the rabbi roll which is a fun take on the classic Philly roll.)
Nunu is situated on Frankford Avenue in the Fishtown neighborhood, easily accessible via the Market-Frankford line. It's about a ten-minute walk if you get off at Girard station.
