Backyard is one of the cafes that I discovered at the beginning of my Rotterdam journey several years ago. It is located very centrally, with a cozy interior and a wide & nice menu selection. They serve all types of eaters, including vegetarians and vegans, which is a big yes for me yay! And of course, options are always yummy. The café has two floors; the upstairs area is better organized for opening your laptop and working. They also have large tables and offer hosting events and workshops and you can contact them via their website or Instagram. The owners are super open to new ideas!
As for the menu, they have amazing snack options. I especially enjoy their big snack platter, which is filled with loads of fresh and delicious bites! They also serve some delightful sweets; my all-time favorite is the blueberry cheesecake next to an oat latte! Backyard also offers outdoor seating options and during the summer, it's delightful to enjoy the sunshine while indulging in their delicious comfort food.
It is such a nice place to discover, and both the owners and the staff are very nice. As an illustrator I once even had a mini exhibition of my illustration works upstairs! :) Hope you enjoy what they have to offer!
