This is by far my favourite source of edible colour and healthy sweets in Rotterdam.
And I don't mean healthy but untasty, I mean healthy and delicious. These sweets also happen to be environmentally friendly - they are made with fairtrade ingredients.
They are located in the south of Rotterdam and they would have had to be invented if they didn't exist. When I say they, I am referring to the couple that runs the place and the party on our taste buds, Renate and Frank - two travelers and adventurers who wanted to share their way of eating with the world.
They participated in a food festival, got noticed and their dream turned into an experimental cake bar. No, I don't mean magic cake. I mean unbelievably delicious cake where tastes and textures are combined creatively - you can tell that this is also the background of the hosts: they used to work as graphic designers. And if this is not enough to impress you, you should know that you can also enjoy some special teas and infused water here.
The interior emanates freshness and comfort - great for lazy afternoon chatter and gossip. If you come here once, you will definitely bookmark this place on your map to come back later.

They work directly with farmers to serve seasonal, high-quality Harvest Bowls. I really appreciate the concept here, as you can create your own bowl of delicious food.

This beach along the Maas River is perfect as a quiet, secluded, sandy beach. It's taken over by nature and even has some willow trees! Just bring a towel.
