If you're taking a stroll through Kralingse Bos on a sunny day, De Kraal is a perfect place to stop by and observe the variety of animals like goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and even a few peacocks. It is a petting zoo, meaning you can pet any of the animals you want and get to know the animals and nature.
De Kraal zoo is known to be a children's zoo, but honestly, it's just as magical for adults. There's something incredibly calming about being surrounded by the animals and the greenery, especially so close to the city. It's a place that welcomes everyone, whether you're wandering solo, spending time with friends, or bringing along little ones, the warm and peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect escape for all ages.
There are also picnic tables around the farm where you see families sitting and enjoying a meal with their kids. It is also an educational outing because everywhere on the farm you will find information boards with fun facts about the animals and the employees are always open to ask questions and talk more about the animals. Sometimes they even host seasonal workshops or small events, which add to the charm of the place.
Whether you’re in need of a quiet moment or an outdoor activity, this spot in the heart of Kralingse Bos is worth a visit.
