Every time I go to this museum I leave filled with dreams and inspiration.
I love to lose myself among images from different times and geographies. One time, at the entrance to one of the exhibitions, I had to take off my shoes and give away my phone to be stored away. Without the distraction of wanting to take pictures of photos, the experience of viewing was completely different. Try it!
The museum is located in Kop van Zuid, which in itself is an interesting area to explore.
This is also where the yearly event Rotterdam Haute Photographie takes place in February. It is a gathering of the most prominent names in photography under one roof - young and old.
Reserve at least two hours for the visit; if you rush through it you might as well say you've never been there. Photography is like a mirror into your soul; you will gain insight about yourself and you will be thankful.
There's always a few exhibitions being hosted at the same time, so yo will find something that tickles your interest, you can be certain of that.
