I don't only like spicy food - sometimes I need it. Following my wanderlust, when I had the opportunity to go to South East Asia, I found the food there perfect for my tastes. So I was absolutely over the moon when I discovered that nearby my house there was a Thai restaurant that actually tasted like the real thing.
SOI 3 is a corner joint with a traveling story: the owner is a Dutch man that spent many years working and travelling in Thailand. When he decided to return, he thought it would be a good idea to bring with him a part of the country. He brought a traditional menu and honest cooking that makes you feel like you're in the middle of a street food area there.
My only problem when I go to SOI 3 is that I'm so in love with my favorites that it's difficult for me to try other things in the menu. But one at a time, I will manage. Meanwhile, I will keep on enjoying the green curry with duck, the green papaya salad, the wonderful fresh rolls, and the phad thai. My brother, who is a cook and worked in a Thai restaurant for a while, says that it is the best one he's tasted outside of his kitchen. And believe me, for a cook that is a handful.
Enjoy also the colorful decoration and the terrace, that pops up whenever the weather permits.
