In the last couple of years there seems to be a ‘Burger boom’ in Rotterdam. Burger restaurants have opened left, right and center. But there are burgers and then there are burgers. It is hard to distinguish one from another. Ter Marsch & Co has certainly done a great job distinguishing itself with high quality food on a perfect spot.
In 2014 the restaurant opened on the Witte de Withstraat, a street with a high density of bars and eating establishments. Since then, Ter Marsch has made a name for itself by making the best burgers. This resulted in them winning the competition for Best Burger in the Netherlands (2015). The restaurant still serves the winning burger, Burgeresse, and it is highly addictive to eat!
But Ter Marsch didn’t get stuck in the past. They developed new burgers, improved their recipe and serve temporarily special burgers every now and then. It isn’t just a place for burgers. Until 18:00 sandwiches are served for lunch. Even salads are on the menu (some even vegetarian, yes I know it is a burger restaurant). And they make a killer Gin Tonic if you’re in for some pre-drinks.
You cannot make a reservation, so sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, but it is definitely worth the wait!
