One afternoon, I happened to be walking down Market street to work, and stumbled upon a blue easy-up just off the corner of busy Market street. I could smell the delicious BBQ pork and just knew I had to check it out. Unfortunately, I was sort of out of luck that day because they were all out of the best sandwiches! I decided to get the last one they had left, ham, which was still quite tasty. However, after a couple minutes of small talk with the owner, he told me his pro tip: call early and have them put aside your order until you can pick it up.
This man stands at his easy-up every weekday for about 3 hours or until they sell out. They also have a restaurant location in the Tenderloin, but the pop-up is a bit easier to get to for the folks working in SoMa on lunchbreaks. They have so many amazing Vietnamese dishes and for really fantastic prices. When I finally did call back and get my hands on one of those BBQ pork Bahn Mi, I was truly in heaven.
Cash only, they stay open only until they sell out.
