About me

About me
I grew up in Vacaville, 45 miles east of San Francisco, and moved back to San Francisco 3 years ago after spending 8 years in Washington, DC.

While I was on the East Coast, the Bay Area was never far from my heart or email exchanges. People would constantly ask me, “What unique things should I do when I visit San Francisco?” I would write back pages and pages of suggestions.

Why San Francisco?
San Francisco combines the trappings of urban life: food, art, and music with true natural beauty. I love living in place where neighborhoods have a distinct personality. When you wander the streets of San Francisco, you will soon discover that every neighborhood is a self-contained village.

They say California is the one state that has everything: big cities, small towns, mountains, and oceans. Well, San Francisco is a snapshot of California contained in 7 square miles. You can hike mountains, go to the beach, and eat at a hole-in-the wall pub or a world- famous bistro, all in the same day.

Godzilla Sushi

Small but mighty

"Godzilla Sushi" San Francisco is my favorite sushi place, because it is a refreshing break from the trend. It's very cheap. And the wine is even cheaper!

Billy Goat Hill

Swing on top of the world

The swing in "Bill Goat Hill" Park San Francisco offers the feeling of flying and my favorite local view of downtown, Dogpatch, the Mission, and Bernal Hill...

Front Porch

Stay for the bourbon

The "Front Porch" is my favorite place in San Francisco for Southern cuisine. And... bourbon! They offer at least 5 different brands of bourbon at a time.

Dynamo Donut + Coffee

A pop-up here to stay

"Dynamo Donut + Coffee" San Francisco can best be described as a sidewalk coffee bar with great donuts with fresh, local, and organic ingredients...

Frances

Table wine is a must

"Frances" San Francisco is my go-to restaurant for out of town guests or a nice night out in Castro. Great locally-sourced food & wine, and affordable too!

Roosevelt Sip N Eat

Back in the game

"Roosevelt Sip N Eat" San Francisco has two things going for it: the tamales and the charm. Roosevelt's has been a staple in the Mission for over 80 years.

Lands End to Coastal Trail

Ocean to bay hike

My all-time favorite park in San Francisco is Lands Ends, which falls more on the hiking side, though you could just as easily have a picnic.
