Western Golden Gate park has so many surprises that I often can lose an afternoon exploring, but then I am hungry and my first thought is a perfect thin pizza and cocktail two blocks to the South on Judah at DamnFine Co. The name of the business, for once, is no lie, it is pretty dang fine. A personal favorite is the Pig in the Woods: pancetta, enoki, garlic, fresh mozzarella, and truffle. Sausage and Sage is another fallback, or the Potato Peso.
They have an innovative and evolving cocktail menu as well as a globally curated wine list. I have at times been lured into their excellent pasta selections or a warm brussel sprout salad, but then that means not having a pizza, it is a hard choice. And when I am done, the N Judah is right there to jet home, or if I need to work off a big lunch, it's only two blocks back to GG park for a lovely walk home.
