I have a bit of a crush on European cities- especially all the parks you find in every neighborhood. Seattle finally has its own version with the new "parklet" program.
Parklets are mini parks that the city is slowly creating by converting former parking spots into parks. This location is one of three that have been approved by the city and if they prove successful, more will be designated. Parklets give neighborhoods a free place to gather and socialize- what's not to like about that?
The parklet is a fun place to hang out with friends, day or night and its location on Olive Way makes it great for people-watching. You can take food from any of the nearby businesses (Crumble and Flake, Kedai Makan, etc.) and enjoy it here. No alcohol is allowed in the parklet (so I guess that's where the similarity to Europe ends) but I enjoy coming here after hanging out a bar with friends.
