Seattle has its fair share of bars, but until recently, I haven't explored too many of them. Knee High Stocking Co. is a prohibition-style "speakeasy" located on Capitol Hill.
I love the unassuming door and the doorbell that you ring in order to get inside. It's a cozy space and the people working here are really friendly and helpful. You'll need their help as the cocktail & drinks menu is pages and pages long. Listen to your server's recommendations- you won't be disappointed. I really like their pimento drink (it's salty and spicy) and they have seasonal drink specialties as well. They even have tasty bar food like salty pretzels (with rarebit) to give you sustenance.
If you're in a small group or alone, I recommend sitting at the bar. It's full of action (my last visit, I witnessed flaming drinks set on fire) and a lot of fun to observe the expert mixologists doing their craft.

"The Octopus Bar" is by far the best watering hole in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood. The decor should be tacky (in theory), but it's effortlessly cool
