The Bikery is a 100% volunteer run bike co-op that provides friendly and knowledgeable service, teaching people to fix their own bike. This fun little shop is housed in an art space in an apartment complex that provides spaces for artists to live and work. The Bikery is a tinkerer's dream crammed full with frames, wheels and every bike part imaginable.
If you're strapped for cash and need to fix your bike, the friendly Bikery assistants will teach you how. Whether it's fixing a flat tire or building an entire bike, you'll leave with some new mechanical skills and a sense of accomplishment. The shop attracts some very interesting and passionate individuals and is one of the reasons why I like the place. On my visits, I have met a brewer as well as someone who works for the Seattle bike share program.
The Bikery is a great place to sharpen some bike skills as well as meet other passionate bikers.
