Betahaus is a coworking space. They host a powerful community of like-minded professionals, promising startups and inspiring events. That’s what they advertise on their webpage. And they do deliver.
Apart from the fact that you can rent a convenient work desk (many freelancers and startups have already done that), Betahaus has also become a famous meeting spot.
The place occupies a huge former telephone exchange building so space is not an issue. The coworking area is on the second floor and so is the event zone. It often hosts discussions, seminars, workshops by various organizations, most of them free and open for visits (check their Facebook page or subscribe to the newsletter if you want to receive updates).
Very often there are events also in the betacafé downstairs. One such event you can visit is the weekly Thursday betabreakfast where various startups and NGOs meet to present their projects and exchange ideas. For just 5 BGN you get a boost for your body and mind. Unfortunately, the breakfast takes place on their tennis table so no ping pong at that time :).
One event you should definitely be on the lookout for is their birthdays. Yes, plural, like more than one per year. The best thing is that they also celebrate half-birthdays so there’s a huge party every six months (usually beginning of June and December).
The whole betahaus idea started in Berlin and there are already local organizations in Hamburg, Barcelona and Sofia, the latest one doing pretty well.
