This pastry shop is literally a dream come true. The owner - Maya Marashlian - left a manager job in the corporate world to follow her culinary passion. I have personally seen the hard work she pulled in the recent years to establish herself on the market, especially during COVID-19 restrictions. She did it and she is here to stay - with an amazing shop in the very heart of the city.
Honestly, the shop looks more like a lab. Clean, minimalist and luxurious. You can order whole cakes for special occasions or choose a treat from the beautifully-arranged showcase. In the beginning, at her previous locations, the showcase got empty way before the end of the working hours. Now you can usually have pretty good choice of at least 5 to 10 different desserts whenever you go.
All the recipes are developed and mastered by chef Maya and her team. The results are usually a piece of art. The way she blends tastes, layers and colours is fantastic so you always get a mouth-watering experience. Fortunately, these pieces of art are not just for looking. It's also crucial that she uses world-class ingredients such as the premium French chocolate Valrhona.
Whenever I feel like something special for a present or just want to indulge myself, I'd stop by and grab something. Some of the classics are usually there but there's always something new to not get bored. Talking about indulging, one my favourites is appropriately name "decadent cake".
