Gaya Gelato is currently my favorite gelato spot in Sofia, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're a gelato lover, this delightful experience is a must-try.
Every scoop is a blend of quality and authenticity, with a focus on clean, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients. One of the highlights for me is the Boza and coffee gelato - a flavor I've never encountered anywhere else. Boza is a traditional Balkan drink made from fermented cereals. If you're hesitant to try the drink, don't worry; the gelato is a must-try on its own. You can even try Halva flavor here — a type of confectionery that is widely spread throughout Eastern Europe, Balkans and the Middle East, made from peanut butter or sunflower butter.
Gaya Gelato also offers sorbets as well. The staff is very kind, so if you're unsure about what to get, don't hesitate to ask for a tasting. And of course, you can mix a couple of flavours even in the smallest cup. I don't drink coffee, but my friends say it is also good and recommend it.
