The pedestrian bridge is located in the center of Sofia and it is a passway over Bulgaria boulevard. The bridge does not have an official name, but it is popular amongst the locals as the bridge of those in love. It is not known who named the bridge this way, but it is a fact that a lot of couples in love enjoy sitting on the bridge on summer evenings and watching the cars pass below their feet. The bridge also reveals a beautiful panorama of the Vitosha mountain and downtown Lozenetz area.
The bridge actually connects Bulgaria square with a park on the side and it ends right next to Hilton hotel. The bridge is quite wide and looks like an arch. It is also a popular location for the youngest to arrange their meetings there.
The lover's bridge has been popular in recent years as an exhibition place too. Several open air art work exhibitions have taken place there. Companies often use the bridge as a promotional place too. The exhibitions are always free and some of them include National Geographic photo stands, the international cartoon exhibition, photographs of old Sofia, etc.
Right underneath the bridge (between the two lanes of the boulevard) lies a rock'n roll themed McDonald's for those who feel hungry after spending several hours with the love of their life.
