I have a soft spot for delicious food/homey atmosphere combos and this is yet another article for a place offering an abundance of both. The Little Things restaurant, as its name suggests, definitely pays attention to the detail, celebrating every small element of its design and dishes.
The magnificent food is prepared with seasonal high-quality ingredients to create interesting fusion combinations. The menu is a nice mixture of fresh salads, pasta, cooked foods and grilled meats, with some vegan and vegetarian options. I recommend the fresh burrata cheese salad and the homemade meatballs, although everything I have tried is worth a good word. It is not only the taste of food, but also its nice presentation – the colorful plates, the jars used in stead of saltshakers and bowls, the linen napkins carefully wrapped around the cutlery – all is thoughtfully taken care of. The interior design with its eclectic retro restored furniture in bright colors and shelves full of books and small treasures makes you feel as though you are visiting a friend’s home and not a restaurant in central Sofia. Do not hesitate to sit inside if you find no free tables in the compact outdoor area.
The Little Things is situated in an inner yard opposite St. Sedmochislenitsi church, which it shares with another restaurant and a bar. Make sure you go to the right place – the small house on the left. Enjoy a glass of Bulgarian wine and the good service on top of everything else.
