About me
I'm a Warsaw journalist, writing everyday news, reviews of new places, and meeting lots of inspiring people who create Warsaw.
I also travel a lot and the further I go the more I appreciate Warsaw! Our exeptional wild beach in the centre of the city, cold vodka drunk at the bar at 04:00, riding a bike over an empty Świętokrzyski bridge at night - these are the things that I miss the most when I'm on the other side of the world.
I live in Praga, a district on the right side of the Vistula river. Here, we don't say we live in Warsaw. Warsaw is on the other side, this is Praga. And it's different than the rest of the city. This place has kept the old dialect, food, music and the style of being. Some people say it's dangerous, some people say it's artistic, but for me it has got the atmosphere of a small town. I feel that people don't rush so much here, and talk and care about each other more.
Why Warsaw?
Warsaw is not the kind of city you can fall in love with at first sight. It's not typically beautiful, and can be hard to coexist with. It has got a hot temper, but it's also strong and proud. It's not easy to love this city; maybe that's why I feel my love is so special.
It's also an adventure to be a Warsaw spotter. This city changes overnight! A lot of places close every month, while new places pop up on the map just as quickly. It's very dynamic and - because of this - very inspiring. It's the place where many influences crash - East and West, tradition and modernity, urban and rural.
