About me
I’m a travel agent and tourism and travel student, born and raised in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. I’m passionate about good, local food and drink, being outdoors and spending time with my friends and family.
I love to travel and backpack and I recently spent three months living in Germany, learning the language and experiencing German culture. Here at home, I’m an administrator for several travel groups in Vancouver, focused on welcoming newcomers to the city, showing them around and helping them become established in this exciting, frenetic city.
I volunteer with a lot of organizations that promote environmental sustainability and awareness. I’m now living in the Mount Pleasant area, with my boyfriend and my son.
Why Vancouver?
I love to travel and see new places, and because Vancouver is my hometown, it’s always the one I’m running away from. But every time I leave and return home, I fall in love with this city over and over, more each time.
This city is a veritable gold mine of diversity. While it lacks the culture and bustle of bigger Canadian cities, like Montreal and Toronto, it makes up for it in its proximity to stunning natural landscapes. In less than an hour you can go from sandy beaches, to the North Shore mountains, to a dance club in Gastown.
It’s no exaggeration that Vancouverites love sports and fitness, and if you are keen you can kayak, rock climb, do yoga, ice skate, even standup paddle board to your heart’s content. But we make up for all that exercise with our obsession with extravagant food, local wine and craft beer. To me there is nowhere better for international food, seafood, farmers markets, and microbreweries.
