Skånegatan is a well-known street in Stockholm with plenty of good restaurants and fun bars. You’ll find Italian, Indian, Brazilian & Japanese fusion, American, Thai and much much more. It might be the street in Stockholm with the most restaurants.
At Skånegatan 59, you’ll find Noel Pop-Up Restaurant. Every couple of months there is a rotation and a new restaurant pops up in this venue. It is quite fun to go here as the interior stays the same but the food changes. I have had the pleasure of trying Mexican, Peruvian and dishes from Kenya. Often the menu is smaller, and the restaurant doesn’t have that many seats either, but in my opinion, this makes the quality so much better. I never before had tried food from Kenya, and here I had a spicy chicken casserole with a lot of veggies and there were also some beef stew and bread, chapati, to scoop up all the good stuff with.
The Mexican food was also very good and tasty, and I tried my first flauta, a corn tortilla filled with meat or veggies and then deep-fried. If you are lucky, you can experience two different cuisines while visiting the city. During the summer months, the restaurant also has a small patio which is nice to sit at. At the time of writing this article, there is a Filipino pop-up and I am looking forward to trying it! The main courses start from SEK 195 and starters from SEK 130.
