El Vecino is an informal wine bar which is located at the end of the universe. Well, to be honest, at the end of Tel-Aviv would be more accurate (ignore the map. No local defines anything that is north of the Yarkon river as Tel Aviv), but the consequences are the same for me, so it kind of has the same meaning (with one exception, when Hapoel plays at Einstein Arena).
I usually sit there at the bar, but the place consists of two floors and an outdoor area in case you are a tables person. In contrast with formal boring wine bars, at El Vecino I can choose from a wide selection of wines, so I can enjoy a good standard Côtes du Rhône, or challenge myself with a complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape. I normally like to drink on an empty stomach, but the menu here is great, so I usually let the bartender choose something from it after a glass or two (or more).
By the way, El Vecino is "the neighbor" in Spanish. The pub that stood there before was called "Hashachen", which is "the neighbor" in Hebrew. I found this reference charming.
