Roy Herzog is a chef with an agenda. After working for years with one of the most famous chefs in Israel (about whom I wrote here), he wanted to go his own way and to show the Israelis that it's definitely possible to have a rich, colorful, tasty meal, that contains everything your body needs - and is also vegan.
So he opened his own spot called Herzog - a beautiful, relaxed place, full of life and color. He created a unique menu that is built out of different "mountains" - every mountain is a different, wonderful dish with yams, lentils, beats, pesto, whole rice and so much more.
Besides the "mountain" dish that changes everyday, there are also salads, pasta and "zoodels" - zucchini noodles. To that you can add wine or beer at a very good price and that's all you need! Hmmmm... except maybe also one of their wonderful desserts, all 100% vegan.
Even more than the food, what I really like about this place are its good vibes. The place is very intimate, and whenever you enter you run into Roy or one of his team members, smiling and chatting with you. Eating there feels a bit like a family dinner, surrounded by friendly people. Perfect for a cozy dinner with loved ones!
