If you ask most Israelis what they do on a Friday afternoon, they will tell you one thing - eat hummus at their favorite local hummus place. My favorite is Abu Dabi. It has it all: amazing food, a great location in the center of the city, and a really cool vibe.
Tip: There are a lot of great things on the menu other than hummus you don't wanna miss! I usually order a plate of hummus or mashausha (chickpeas mixed with garlic, lemon and tahini), and share a few extras with my friends: hot, fresh falafel balls, fries or cauliflower with tahini. If you're still able to move at that point, they also have a great malabi for desert!
Another great thing about the place is their laid-back vibe. They always have reggae music playing (and a big picture of Bob Marley hanging on the wall), and the waiters are always nice. they even give you a free refill (if you've somehow managed to finish the huge hummus plate) and black coffee at the end of the meal. It feels like there's no rush, and you can sit back and watch the city walk slowly into the weekend's slow pace. And if you're looking for some optimism, the place has an Arab-Jewish ownership and is all vegetarian.
So if you're hungry after spending the morning at the beach or at the market - that's the place to go!
