This is a unique place in the heart of Tel Aviv. Their specialty is vegan and vegetarian Buddha bowls. You can mix any of the ingredients on the menu to create your own bowl. I was there with quite a few people and we shared several bowls among us, which was a very good idea, as we got to try most things on the menu.
The Buddha bowl, for those unfamiliar with the concept, includes small portions of different types of veggie food. At Citizen Garden, they mix a base of lentils or root vegetables, with potatoes, sweet potatoes or eggplants as a “main” and sauce on top. This comes with plenty of healthy vegetables like kale and radish. There are lots of variations, with savoury and sweet options to try, alongside freshly pressed juice or coffee and tea.
The place is very Instagrammable, thanks to its aesthetic, colourful bowls of food, but also thanks to the great interior design and the lovely, peaceful garden at the back.
