Albania has been blessed with rich soil, sunny Mediterranean climate and warm weather: the perfect conditions for the growth of herbs and plants that are used in the beauty industry (like lavender, almonds and hazelnuts). This is why I love Aromatherapy Albania: it uses only the best local produce to provide visitors with totally natural, chemical-free and most importantly, handmade beauty products. The shop is very nicely decorated and small but cosy. The team makes their creams, body lotions, essential oils on the spot, so they're not the traditional factory-made products you would otherwise buy.
I love this shop because, the natural way of production aside, it offers a variety of creams and serums for all sorts of situations (both for men and women). One of the things Aromatherapy is very proud of is its use of the plant Eternelle, otherwise known as the plant of youth, which has a beautiful anti-ageing effect. In other words, organic, environmentally friendly entrepreneurial initiatives also exist in Tirana and for me it has been a pleasure to see what they have to offer. My favourite is the day cream, which leaves the skin soft and nicely perfumed, as well as the hazelnut oil. I could literally smell the hazelnuts that were used and that is thanks to the cold-pressing technique that the staff uses. This method allows the preservation of the best from the plant, to enjoy each benefit to the fullest.
