When I moved to the Junction I feared I had left all my beloved taco hotspots behind - but alas, Rancho Relaxo is the new taco-joint I've come to know and love... A LOT. Rancho Relaxo is a family-run business that operates out of two locations in Toronto, one in the Annex and this one in the Junction - and prides themselves on maintaining a sense of community amongst their customers. One of the ladies at the counter smiles as she tells me about a long-time customer who moved to the U.S. and made a point of coming back to visit their Junction location the last time he was in town.
Rancho Relaxo offers burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, salads, soup, and my favourite - tacos! I love a good mix & match, and they allow you to choose any three tacos for $10, a really affordable Mexican meal from my experience. As for the types of tacos, they have quite a few - pulled pork, jerk chicken, fried shrimp, fried fish, crispy cauliflower - and the recently added vegetarian and vegan options of the jackfruit taco and the tofu jerk taco. After quite a few visits I have to say my favourites are the fried fish, and especially the crispy cauliflower - I'll never look at a cauliflower with disgust ever again.
Take-out is my go-to here but they do have quite a bit of seating available. The only danger with that is...the longer you stay...the more tacos you're bound to devour.
