Roncesvalles Village, known more fondly by locals as Roncy, is an area in the west end of Toronto that has many hidden treasures. Having just moved to the area, I've only heard great things, but I've only just started to explore. The Local was definitely a good place to start. A staple in Roncy for over 13 years, The Local is a laid-back Irish pub offering comfort food, draft and craft beers on tap and a live band every night of the week.
They have a small patio out front, as well as spacious but intimate seating inside. The menu was very simple offering, your typical pub fare of burgers, fries, wings, and fish and chips. It seems like a popular after-work spot to grab a pint and I can see why, with great prices, and quick and friendly service.
Roncesvalles has a lot to offer, and is a only a stone's throw away from High Park - making The Local a perfect place to stop and recharge before exploring the rest of the neighbourhood.

The store offers containers for specialty recycling which would otherwise be tossed in the trash, and they even help with the hosting of recycling events.
