Just behind San Mark's square, this is my favorite spot when I want to have an ice-cream.
The place, near the Greci belltower and just a few steps from the core of the city, makes the best homemade gelato in Venice at an affordable price.
The shop might be a little small and hidden, but as soon as I get in, my mouth's watering! You can choose among different flavours: from the traditional ones, chocolate, lemon, pistachio, fiordilatte, stracciatella and amarena(cherry), to more elaborate ones like vanilla, cherry and almonds biscuits or Scottish cookies. However all of them are delicious, special, light and tasty!
Besides ice-cream, you can also find particular ice lollies, crepes with Nutella served with cream, for a more substantial break, and slushes, perfect for the summer heat.
The two owners are two venetian young boys, who with passion and determination guarantee always-fresh ice cream. The Gelateria is only open from the Carnival period until late autumn.
