At Nico's you can eat the best ice cream in Venice! After hours of walking between bridges and narrow streets, a good ice cream is all you need. If you're in Italy, it's pretty easy to find a pastry shop that makes a good homemade ice cream. In Venice, however, it's not always so easy: luckily there's Nico!
From what older customers say, here the tastes have remained unchanged for years, maintaining the authenticity and simplicity of the products.
The gianduiotto with black cherry and cream is the taste you can't miss, especially if you enjoy it walking along the Zattere Fondamenta or sitting along the shore near the canal, enjoying the view on the Giudecca canal and all the boats and ferry boat floating around.
For greater comfort you can also sit at the tables of the terrace, where ice cream, milkshakes and many other sweets are served in really vintage cups and saucers.
Every time I promise myself to try another taste, but it's stronger than me -- the gianduiotto is irresistible!
Do not leave without trying this spot and asking for "Gianduiotto da passeggio", their slab of chocolate hazelnut ice cream in whipped cream... divine!
"Fondamenta delle Zattere" in Venice is a long and wide street that looks at the Giudecca canal. Walking here, far from the crowds, is pleasant & relaxing.
