Hidden in an unattractive area of the Venetian mainland, la Vite Rossa is one of my favourite restaurants in Mestre and is very popular with those who are looking for a good glass of wine and some “cicchetti”, the so-called Venetian tapas that you eat standing and chatting with friends.
La Vite Rossa is a paradise for those who want to taste a bit of everything because the variety of “cicchetti” offered ranges from Venetian fish, meatballs, fried food to the veggie snacks…There’s something to suit everybody’s fancy! I often ask to get a mix of them to be sure I can try it all and it is usually enough as a dinner.
La Vite Rossa is special not just for the food, even the wine has its share! The wines offered are always carefully selected and they are mostly local and national. Same for the food, this also shows the dedication and passion of the owners and people who work there.
The place inside is friendly and cozy, but very small and there are very few seats. If you want to stay for dinner (highly recommended!) do not forget to call to reserve or you risk not finding a place!
