Everyone coming to visit me has an obligatory stop, that is Osteria da Filo, called la Poppa</em>; I like to get my friends involved in its warm atmosphere and its cultural events, drinking good wine and tasting my favourite chicheto - eggplant balls.
The location is perfect for students and young people; there is a wide street just outside the bar, always full of chatting people, in winter as well as in summer.
The bar inside is split into two different rooms, dressed up in wood furnitures, cozy leather sofas and illuminated by soft lights; the first one has a big semi-circular counter. Two bowls are constantly placed on it, the former with bread and the latter filled up with a tasty gravy that changes everyday, and everything is gently for free.Â
In the second room there are sofas, placed next to short tables and shelves with lots of board games. I often come here to enjoy the weekly little live concerts and other nice events they have, like acting performances, interactive games, readings and more. There is also a piano, to be played during the concerts or even by the customers.
This bar is a cultural statement, open to everybody to offer sustenance to the body and the soul. Thanks to this strong identity, made stronger by its addicted clients, Osteria da Filo is one of the best bars in Venice!
