To the statement claiming that Venice is losing its own character, its own manners and its own style, one could waste many hours going over the gentrification of areas, the lack of opportunities for the locals and so on, or rather, the same one could point you to one of the spots where Venice's identity and habits have remained untouched: the Osteria Rivetta.
Being one of Venice’s more ancient Bacaros (bar), this place is perfect to dive into the local ritual of Venetian apertivo, that is “Ombra de vin e cicheto” (glass of wine and typical finger food).
In this very eclectic place, one’s ear can be pleased with semi-tuned notes coming out of a classical guitar played by a random passerby, one’s eye still beholding the maritime beauty of this very strange island, one’s hands fixed in a glass of wine and a delicious sandwich and one’s mouth busy tasting all of this and conversing with people of all sorts and all backgrounds.
