As many of you might have had the chance to see from the plane window a few minutes before landing at Venice’s airport, the view of this surreal island from above is undeniably breathtaking. But where else, especially on land, is it possible to climb some steps and get a more detailed view of all this beauty?
The answer that might immediately come to mind is San Marco’s bell tower. Located a few steps from the basilica, it is beautiful in its essence, but also crowded and not easy to enjoy. On the contrary, another bell tower is erected not far from San Marco Square. You can actually see it from there. With the basilica at your back, fix your eyes to the left, cross the water, and there will be San Giorgio’s island, with its harbor, its church and its bell tower.
Only one boat stop away from San Marco’s square can one reach this beautiful island with boat number 2.
