Ever since my backpacker trip to Vietnam back in 2013, I have been absolutely addicted to all kinds of Vietnamese food, whether it’s bun, pho or summer rolls with a heavy peanut sauce.
Somehow, in my five weeks of travel ,I did manage to miss the Bánh Mì dish though. No worries though; the hype has arrived in Vienna and I have found this little shop that offers quite exceptional Bánh Mì sandwiches.
It’s located just to the right of Operngasse, close to Naschmarkt. The main target group of the place are students and business people that grab a sandwich in their lunch break, so Bánh Mì has adapted their opening times accordingly (Mon – Fri 11:30 – 19:00). Their menu is limited to only five different sandwich options to choose from. I love both vegetarian variations, especially the honey-sesame tofu one.
I’ve experienced days where Bánh Mì had to close earlier simply because they’d run out of sandwiches!
