With this unique coffee place in Vienna, the owner aims to appreciate the beauty of former times and embed it in a new environment. Long before opening this little coffee place, Christian had begun collecting Art Nouveau elevators. This explains why your wait if the toilet (also in an original lift cabin!) is occupied will be informative. While lifts are a basic feature of modern apartment buildings today, 120 years ago, they were still considered luxury amenities. Accordingly, they were designed with much splendour back then.
Reservations, sadly, are not possible due to limited seating. Just pop by and try your luck! And if the seats in the two adorable elevator cabins from 1908 are currently taken, maybe take a walk in the neighboring Belvedere garden first before trying again? ;)
I definitely love that the place is small - this way, the cozy atmosphere is preserved. And the tender music in the background will take you back in time. To complete the experience, the owner is waiting on you in a lift boy uniform in style from that period. I am enchanted!
