Being hooked on something is not the best thing as we know. But on some occasions this should actually be recommended, especially if we are talking about such things as street art! And I am surely one of the bunch this applies to.
I feel blessed to live in a neighbourhood which in the summer of 2015 got coloured with a few amazing street art pieces. One of those was made by an Italian artist called Millo. A very vivid and graphic mural right in front of the Halės market (check the Halės market article). This huge wall attracts every pair of eyes from the busy street life – how could it not – it's so positive! The other works were made by the infamous British graffiti artist – Mobstr</a>; an excellent collaboration between two Polish artists – Sepe and Chazme</a>; a great local artist - Antanas Dubra, and the world renowned twins OsGemeos. And all of this thanks to whom? None other than the Vilnius Street art festival crew.
The festival is counting its fifth year of existence and in my opinion it is one the best graffiti/street art initiatives in Vilnius today. A capital full of pale bricks and concrete is finally getting an annual injection of captivating street art pieces. I already can't wait for the next festival. For more detailed information and locations of the previously mentioned art pieces, check out the festival page.
