This art gallery is definitely something unique! Galeria Forty/Forty is situated in a 100 year old fortress. The most famous artists of Polish street art were invited here to bring some colours and light into this old, gloomy, raw place. Each one got one room to paint it however she or he wanted.
Now, their paintings are mixing on the walls with some spontaneous art, names of Warsaw football teams and some random spray paints. It's because gallery is open 24/7 and there is no security. In my opinion, it's how a street art gallery should work!
In the devastated interiors we would like to create a magic space, full of art, place for bike trips and meetings with friends - the creators of Galeria Forty Forty say. I've had some great parties there, there is no other gallery you can bring barbeque and beer to! I also love exploring other buildings and corridors of the fortress and I always find some new scary places there.
