For architecture lovers Warsaw can be a paradise. Do you love concrete and modular structures? If the answer is yes, you should not miss Kozia 9.
It is very interesting how the urban landscape can change in a second. In fact, just next to the old town in Warsaw, there are several buildings that remind the inhabitants that the we live in an eclectic city, if we’re talking about what we can see around us.
Kozia 9 is located just in the Old Town, close to Miodowa street, and close to the Plac Teatralny, where the opera building is king. The building seems to be hidden; in fact, in order to see it, you can access from Moliera street, and you need to find an arch that will lead you to the yard where the structure is located.
The building is an example of Modernist architecture, popularized by ‘Le Corbusier’ and dedicated to functionality. It consists of concrete modular blocks that deliver harmony, despite the geometric lines.
I suggest having a look at it during sunset, when the light creates a chiaroscuro and enhance its beauty (of course if brutalism and concrete is what you like)
