They say in Warsaw that Mokotow is boring. I can see where they're coming from, but who are they? People that haven't been to Nowy Teatr probably!
Located in Madalinskiego street, Nowy Teatr is an open space. There is of course a theater, but it is combined with a fancy cafe (while writing this spot I'm sitting there) that plays jazz and serves quite good cappuccino for only 8 PLN - just try finding one at least as good as mine in town for this price. The cafe also sells a wide selection of books about different topics.
Apart from coffee, this open space hosts exhibitions. This is what makes this spot interesting - variety. I suggest checking on the net to see if they have any interesting event. My last exhibition was Julian Rosefeldt. It was a beautiful summer day, I had coffee in the garden then I got in for free... And guess what? There were very few people, so I really enjoyed the exhibition, which was composed by several screens hanging by strings with videos about immigration.
The Theatre is also a space for cultural events and conferences as well as concerts, unfortunately most in Polish, but sometimes it is possible to find events in English.
The rich cultural life of Warsaw is waiting to be discovered!
