If you've heard anything about Armenia, then you've heard about Ararat brandy. This is sort of the brand of Armenia, thus going to this factory is a must-do thing when in Yerevan. Not only tours but also tasting is possible here. Moreover, in this place there is a special room where one barrel with brandy is placed which is called the Peace Barrel. Many write down their wishes for peace here. It is said that this peace barrel will be opened the day there's real peace between Armenia and neighboring Azerbaijan. Moreover, this is the only place in Armenia where Azerbaijan's flag can be found standing.
My favorite section is the tasting room. While I don't drink brandy often, trying a few options of brandy here (of various age) was a memorable, tasty moment for me. However, it was also memorable in the sense that I was quite dizzy afterwards. So one has to be careful not to mix too much here.
There is also a shop where one can buy brandy of any age.
