About me
I am a tour guide and I love my job very much because I like multicultural environements and my job gives me the chance to experience different cultures without even leaving my country. That’s why I chose to become a Spotter. Honestly, I am concerned with the idea that my country is being misinterpreted and misrepresented, because the regular touristic places give very limited insight about Armenia. Spotted by Locals is a unique chance for me to reveal more aspects of my country and help visitors explore it from different angles.
I have been living in Yerevan since the summer of 2017 but I have had my studies here since 2002 and jobs as well.
Why Yerevan
I like Yerevan because despite the fact that its old, historical buildings have been destroyed, it is still a unique city with its geographical layout and view of Biblical Ararat. On the other hand, it’s a very weird city, because when you are in downtown Yerevan you have the impression that it’s a brand new city with its modern buildings, and it seems that the oldest historical period in the city is the Soviet period. Yet, when you start to explore it, you will even find Bronze and Stone age monuments and some medieval churches. Another thing that makes it special is the delicious organic food, so you should fast before visiting us because you are most likely going to overeat 🙂
And most importantly, it’s a wifi paradise; everywhere you go, you will find good connection, so feel connected!
