Saryan Park, located next to the Opera and Ballet Theatre in central Yerevan, is a quiet spot named after the legendary Armenian painter Martiros Saryan. The park may be small, but it carries a rich cultural vibe.
In the center of the park stands a statue of Saryan, carved from white marble. What really makes this park unique, though, are the daily art exhibitions. Every day, Armenian painters gather here to display their works, offering a mix of paintings in various styles — many of which are for sale. You’ll find the paintings placed around the base of Saryan’s statue, and it’s inspiring to see how modern artists continue the legacy of Armenia’s greatest painter by showcasing their art in a park dedicated to him.
If you're an art lover, Saryan Park is the perfect place to relax, appreciate some local talent, and perhaps even take home a piece of art. You can start a conversation with the painters, discuss their work, and maybe find a painting that speaks to you.
