Ah, the good old Mars Bar. It's been around for ages, has seen its neighbors being closed, torn down and reopened, has witnessed the whole Kreis 4 transform to the trendy area it has become, but it's always stayed true to itself. And why change? It's just such a likable place as it is - a bar with a vibe you wish all bars would possess.
The atmosphere is peaceful and laid-back, the crowd is always friendly and approachable, the music isn't blasting and allows for compelling discussions and there's even a smokers lounge that isn't just a larger cupboard with no ventilation (like in so many other bars).
It's a great locale to meet old friends, find new soul mates or just discuss the different varieties of Swiss beer with the barkeeper - a great place to laugh, to reminisce or to get the evening started. In short: It's the bar you suggest to friends to avoid discussions of where to meet - because everybody likes going to the Mars Bar.
