As you begin your exploration of Zürich, you might notice that the city's alpine panorama is not its strongest asset. However, with a few tips and tricks, we can make the best out of the most of what is available. If you are short on time, Rigiblick is the easiest option among my recommendations for spotting the Alps. Simply take a Tram 10 from the main train station and ride it until you reach Seilbahn Rigiblick. From there, take a tiny funicular to the final stop, and voilà! In just 20 minutes from the train station, the alpine panorama is at your feet.
Once you arrive, take a moment to recognize the mountain that gave the area its name - Mount Rigi. This famous destination is popular among travelers and may be your next stop as you continue your Swiss adventure. You'll find it south of Zurich with its wide triangular shape and tall communications tower at the top. While the view is the main attraction, there are a few other simple things to enjoy: relax on the grass, read a book, or have a picnic. If you feel adventurous, continue uphill to explore the Züriberg forest. To get the best views, make sure the skies are clear. In cloudy conditions, the view might be heavily compromised.
