SF Symphony – Something old, something new

The Louise M Davies Symphony Hall is a beautiful space of culture. It’s nice to have a reason to dress up in a very casual city. When you’re behind the glass looking out at Van Ness Avenue during intermission, you feel elegant. But there are lots of great casual options today too.

Under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas, affectionately known as MTT, the symphony has expertly brought the joy of classical music into the modern era.  They’ve even won a Grammy.

Visiting orchestras from both US coasts, Los Angeles and New York, will perform here. Through the entire year, you can celebrate the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein with special concerts. Classics like Rachmaninoff and Dvořák are always on the schedule.

There’s always something new and fresh like the film series. The Pixar/Disney Animation concert is great for kids of all ages. You can watch the Amadeus with live accompaniment from the SF Symphony. Sounds amazing!
